October 13, 2010 — BigNews.Biz – In a recent nursing home class action suit, thousands of victims and their families have won a personal injury lawsuit filed against Skilled Healthcare Group, who agreed to pay $50 million.
Approximately 32,000 former and present patients were represented in the class action suit, or in the case of patient’s death, their families as heirs.
The company has been alleged and accused for sternly understaffing their 22 nursing homes, all situated in California.
The plaintiffs cited the California state law that an average of 3.2 nursing hours per day of skilled nursing care per patient is required by the aforementioned law.
